Michelle has worked in social services for almost 15 years in both government and non-profit organizations. She is perpetually dissatisfied with the status quo and is fascinated by the beauty and complexity of people, communities, and cultures. Her experience has focused on poverty and social innovation, and she has worked with youth and adults in both direct and indirect practice. She currently uses human centered design and social work to tackle problems in the public sector in Durham Region. She has a Master of Social Work, a BA in Criminology and Psychology, and is currently completing a Master's Certificate in Public Sector Management.
When not at work Michelle can be found in her most important role, mom, and in the Muay Thai gym, where she has trained for a decade.
