I am an Expressive Arts Facilitator and have combined my teaching and nursing careers to offer health and wellness art-based workshops to reveal the power of art. Engaging in creative expression through art supports self-exploration, awareness and innovation, all while having fun. Anyone can participate in expressive arts, as the focus is on the process; making the art work for the person, not creating a piece of art. Expressive arts is an effective therapeutic tool that is beneficial to populations from children to seniors and offers healthy living strategies to support positive physical and psychological health and overall well-being. I have created specific workshops for clients dealing with dementia, anxiety, social isolation, trauma and those receiving hospice care. As a social entrepreneur, I welcome leadership opportunities that support my passion to empower others through art, respecting individuals and their diversity.
