Dan’s 30-year career started in Toronto where he worked for global advertising agencies and small entrepreneurial marketing agencies for 15 years. Dan was a “suit” and worked on the client services side of the business. He also served as Prince Edward County’s Economic Development Officer and is largely responsible for setting Prince Edward County on its course to become the Gastronomic Capital of Ontario as dubbed by the Globe & Mail.
Dan success was in part due to the fact that he applied private sector, entrepreneurial, innovative approaches to the economic development field and was a pioneer in using all media including social media to market on a shoe-string budget. After 10 years in Prince Edward Couty Dan went on to become the President and CEO for Peterborough Economic Development for 4 years, rebranded the organization and brought its marketing into the digital age
During this time, Dan also became frustrated with social media’s high, but lacking measurability profile. Dan has overcome his frustration with action, he recently set up a boutique consultancy (http://dantaylor.global) and is a partner in Amplify Communications, a full-service marketing communications agency where digital marketing and performance-based social media are at the core of his business.
