Cheryl May is a specialist in strategy and foresight. She has held leadership positions in the social sector and the arts and brings over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur. Her career has spanned health and social services, information management, retail operations, journalism, and theatre. She brings an energetic and informed approach to developing products and services that people actually need. She is an inspiring and knowledgeable business consultant who brings out the collective knowledge of teams and rapidly synthesizes information into action.
Cheryl is a recipient of the Ontario Federal Council Leadership through Collaboration Award, Showcase Ontario Diamond Award of Excellence, and Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Head of the Public Service Award of Excellence. She was the Social Entrepreneur in Residence at MaRS from 2008-2010. She is currently The Refinery’s project director and senior advisor to the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
