Watching, listening and learning proved to me today, to be inspiring as the participants of the NEET Incubator presented their first business pitch to the public and to a panel of judges. Through NEET, these youth demonstrated how success in attaining future goals can be made outside of being in education and in not being currently employment. These youth have a renewed sense of passion, focus and dedication, tenacity and perseverance to achieve their goals of opening their own business.
“The Community Innovation Lab helped me to gain confidence in my business idea by showing me that it wasn’t just an idea, you can make it into a plan and implement it. I would say to future entrepreneurs give this program a shot, it will really help you to develop your idea.”
“The people here want you to succeed, but more than that they want you to understand what it is that you want from your own business and to really learn a bit about yourself so that you can embody your traits and values into your business because it will make your business stronger.”
“In my time with Community Innovation Lab I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many people with direct influence in our local downtown core of Oshawa. Most times they would bring workshops and other activities to the office for presentations that gave me a great source of knowledge that I wouldn’t be able to gain my normal means.”
